Conventions of this genre:
·
Character – main protagonist
is always the hero which controls the action, who is up against a villain,
often a rich millionaire.
·
Costumes – usually
wear battle or expensive clothing. Usually dark colours to make them appear
more suspicious, whereas the protagonist will mostly wear light colours such as
white to reinforce that they’re good and to help them standout.
·
Storyline – hero fighting
evil.
·
Editing – a lot of
editing involved with extensive sound affects to increase the impact e.g.
explosions. Action movies containing a varied amount of short and long clips.
·
Sound affects/ music
– intense music, explosions, gunshots, running, screaming and car engines.
·
Use of
colour/lighting – lighting is most scenes is daylight and the use of streetlamps.
·
Mise-en-scene –
these movies are often taken in cities, built up urban areas; skyscrapers,
underground tunnels, flats, warehouses, banks and casinos.
Conventions of the Vendetta trailer:

Character – the main
character Danny Dyer plays the unsung hero in this film. Who is up against a
gang of masked men.
·
Costumes – the main
character wears a very normal outfit; jeans and a top, which contrasts to the
normal hero we see in action films making him barley stand out from his
co-actors. The villains in the trailer are wearing masks. All characters wear
dark coloured clothing.
·
Storyline – Danny Dyer
fighting the evil gang.
·
Editing – there are
several short scenes which are faded into one long scene which holds the
trailer together as one continual flow.
3 explosions.
·
Sound affects/music –
gunshots, shattering glass, screaming, crying. Intense high drum beat which intensifies
thought-out.
·
Use of
colour/lighting – lighting is dark with filming being almost always at night outside
or inside.
·
Mise-en-scene –
filmed in a city; underground, train station, factory, car park.
